Rickard Keen Team Celebrate 30th Anniversary
The team at Rickard Keen gathered to celebrate an important milestone in the history of the firm with a champagne buffet at a local wine bar.
They gathered to celebrate the firm’s 30th anniversary, as it was in 1980 that the practice was formed from the merger of Southend-on-Sea firms Rickard Porter and Hartley Keen – both of which could trace their history back to the early 1900s.
Rickard Keen has since grown to a six-partner firm with a professional team of over 50 and offices in Basildon and Southend.
And the firm had further cause to celebrate in its 30th year when it won the first-ever Accountancy Firm of the Year title from the South Essex branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in May.
Two partners still remain with the firm from before the merger – Noel Kelleway who was a partner at Rickard Porter and the current managing partner Bob Sadler, formerly of Hartley Keen.
Bill Gould, Keith Bell and Alan Worsdale also worked for Hartley Keen before later becoming partners at Rickard Keen, while the firm’s sixth partner, Kate Davies, is a more recent appointment.
Rickard Keen managing partner Bob Sadler said: “We are all delighted that Rickard Keen has reached the 30-year milestone and were keen to arrange something for all of our team to enjoy, to thank them for their efforts in making the firm the success it is today.
“Our achievements in continuing to grow and win new business despite the recession, not to mention our recent Accountancy Firm of the Year title, show that the firm is in good health as it moves into its next 30 years.”
