Protect yourself against a big tax investigation
Last year, at Rickard Keen we introduced a new service to protect our clients in the event of a tax investigation from HM Revenue and Customs.
Our fixed-price fee protection service has proved a big success, giving our clients peace of mind that an investigation by HMRC will not result in additional fees for dealing with this.
This tax investigation service will cover our clients for our professional fees if they are subject to a full or partial enquiry into their financial affairs. This includes disputes over VAT, PAYE, National Insurance, IR35, Pre-Disputes and Schedule 36 Intervention Notices.
Unfortunately, HMRC has recently been in the headline for all the wrong reasons, whether it is for mistakes over coding notices or its use of increasingly draconian powers to investigate the tax affairs of individuals.
HMRC does not have to give any reason for opening an enquiry and some cases taxpayers are selected entirely at random. With the new coalition government also planning to crack down on tax evasion and avoidance, investigations are likely to become more commonplace.
For more information, or for details of our fixed fees for this service, please contact Keith Bell on 01702 347771 or email keith.bell@rickardkeen.co.uk.
